Jani Elasmaa

Jani Elasmaa has a diverse and extensive work experience in the aviation industry. Jani started their career as a Ramp Agent at Nurminen Logistics in 1997. Jani then worked as a Loadmaster at Globeground, where they supervised aircraft loading teams and gained certification on various cargo aircraft.

In 2004, Jani joined Servisair, where they held multiple roles including Duty Manager, Team Manager for Training & Development, Deputy Manager for Ramp Operations, and Quality Manager. In these positions, they oversaw safety and quality assurance, compliance and standards, and led projects such as ISAGO certification. Jani also worked closely with airlines such as British Airways, KLM, and Turkish Airlines.

In 2013, Jani joined Finavia as the Head of Airfield Maintenance, leading a team responsible for keeping Helsinki Airport operational throughout the year, including during challenging weather conditions. Jani then transitioned to Swissport in 2017, starting as the Director of Business Support and later becoming the VP Head of Operations Support for Northern Europe. In these roles, they ensured quality and safety procedures, conducted business development activities, and managed IT systems.

Currently, Jani Elasmaa serves as the Vice President at Finavia, starting in 2020.

Jani Elasmaa has an extensive education history in various fields. Starting in 2003, they began their training with IATA (International Air Transport Association), obtaining several certificates in Aviation Regulations. In 2004, they pursued further education at IATA Training, earning a Cargo Diploma with a focus on Aviation Marketing. In 2007, they enrolled in the Jyväskylä Adult Education Center/Avia College, where they specialized in Aviation Technics, specifically in Aviation/Airway Management and Operations. The same year, they also attended Rastor and completed a degree in Executive Management & Corporate Administration (MHT).

In 2010, Jani Elasmaa further enhanced their skills by completing a Lead Auditor course in Ground Operations at AQS Aviation Quality Services/Lufthansa Flight Academy. Continuing their education, they joined Edupoli in 2014 and graduated in 2016 with a JET (Specialist Qualification in Management) degree, focusing on Business Administration and Management in a general context. Finally, in 2020, they enrolled in Aalto University Executive Education and Professional Development to pursue a Master of Business Administration (eMBA).

In addition to their formal education, Jani Elasmaa has obtained additional certifications to complement their knowledge and qualifications. In 2012, they earned the Nominated Postholder Ground Operations certification from Liikenne- ja viestintävirasto Traficom/Transport- och kommunikationsverket Traficom. Furthermore, in 2020, they attained the Accountable Manager (AM) certification from the same institution. These additional certifications demonstrate their commitment to professional development in the field of aviation and management.
