Data Science Lead & Manager at Finder

Rima Chaudhuri, PhD, is a Lead Data Scientist at Finder, starting in October 2021. Prior to this role, they worked at Phoenix HSL from January 2018 to October 2021, where they served as the Team Lead and Manager in Machine Learning. From August 2014 to December 2017, Rima was a Senior Data Scientist and Researcher at the Charles Perkins Center at the University of Sydney, leading a small team of bioinformaticians and collaborating with industry giants such as Genentech Inc. and Eli Lily, as well as other academic institutions. Before that, they were a Data Scientist and Researcher at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research from January 2013 to July 2014, focusing on the analysis and integration of omics data and collaborating with clinicians and Genentech Inc. Rima also has experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine/Barcelona Supercomputing Center from February 2011 to August 2012, where they worked on drug screening and design methodologies. Rima published a first-author article in a top-tier journal and was a co-inventor in an international patent during this time. Rima's work experience also includes being a Researcher PhD Student at the University of Illinois at Chicago from January 2006 to December 2010, where they conducted research on antiviral drug discovery and biophysical simulations and authored multiple publications and held one international patent. Additionally, they were a Computational Chemistry Intern at Pfizer in 2008, focusing on software development and research, and a Research Assistant in Bioinformatics at Georgia College and State University in 2004. Rima began their career as an Information Technology and CS intern at Blackbaud in 2002.

Rima Chaudhuri, PhD, pursued their education in a chronological manner. Rima began their academic journey at Georgia College & State University from 2000 to 2004. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a specialization in Information Systems and Computer Science. Building upon this foundation, Rima then enrolled at the University of Illinois Chicago from 2005 to 2010. Here, they completed their doctoral studies and obtained a PhD in Bioinformatics.
