Vincent Hokie

Vincent Hokie is a Senior Software Engineer + Squad Lead at Finetune since November 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Engineer at Finetune from August 2019 to November 2021. Vincent also served as a DevOps Engineer at MassChallenge from July 2018 to August 2019, where they played various engineering roles and worked with AWS, Docker, Django, and React. Vincent has experience as a Software Developer at Andela from October 2017 to August 2019. Vincent has also worked as a DevOps Learning Facilitator/Mentor at Google Cloud Developer Community Kampala from September 2018 to May 2019, leading a mentorship program on DevOps. Vincent had part-time roles as a Full-Stack Developer at IT Plus Uganda Limited from June 2017 to October 2017 and as a Front-End Developer at BleafIT from March 2017 to May 2017. Vincent has freelanced as an Android Developer and developed an Android application that interacted with ASP.NET backend web services. Vincent has also worked as a Full-Stack Developer at EdWaze from May 2015 to October 2017 and as a Full-Stack Developer at Ensibuuko in September 2017. During their time at the International University of East Africa (IUEA) as a student from November 2016 to June 2017, they built an Agricultural Management System using MySQL, Laravel, and frontend tools.

Vincent Hokie has a Master of Science in Computing Security from Rochester Institute of Technology, which they obtained from 2021 to 2023. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the International University of East Africa (IUEA) from 2015 to 2017. Vincent also holds a Certificate in Computer Programming from the Nairobi Institute of Business Studies, obtained in 2014. In addition, they have a MicroMasters in Cybersecurity from RITx, obtained in the year 2020 from edX.
