Sirkku Tuominen has extensive experience in environmental research and engineering, currently serving as a Senior Researcher at The Finnish Environment Institute since June 1994, where expertise includes groundwater modeling, risk assessment, and remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater. Prior experience includes a part-time teaching position at Helsinki University of Technology from 1988 to 1992, focusing on hands-on exercises related to crystal forms, minerals, rock and soil types, and optical microscopy. Additionally, Sirkku Tuominen worked as an Engineer at Insinööritoimisto Pohjatutkimus Oy in 1990, contributing to local oversight and vibration measurements for rock blasting projects. Sirkku Tuominen holds a degree in Engineering Geology (TkL) from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan, completed in 1999, and completed high school at Lahden Yhteiskoulu from 1982 to 1985.
