Tuija Mattsson is a senior researcher at the Finnish Environment Institute, where work focuses on the impacts of climate change and land use on biogeochemical cycles of carbon and nutrients, water quality, and ecosystem services in boreal areas, specifically in large river basins and headwater streams. Prior to this role, Tuija Mattsson served as a research scientist at the National Board of Waters and the Environment from April 1990 to February 1995. Tuija Mattsson holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in aquatic sciences from the University of Helsinki.
