Olli Salmi currently serves as Senior Advisor at Finnish Minerals Group - Suomen Malmijalostus Oy, beginning in January 2024. Prior experience includes a significant role at EIT RawMaterials as Managing Director for both the Innovation Hub North and Baltic Sea and the Baltic Sea Innovation Hub from October 2015 to January 2024, where leadership involved serving the European industry, research organizations, and universities in technology scaling and innovation education. Olli Salmi also held positions such as Research Professor at VTT from August 2012 to December 2017, Chief Technology Officer at Oy Eero Paloheimo Ecocity Ltd from July 2010 to August 2012, and Senior Scholar at Aalto University School of Science and Technology from 2007 to July 2010. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan (2002-2008) and an MSc in Chemical Engineering from Åbo Akademi University (1995-2001).
