Joan Apio is an experienced communications professional currently serving as a Communication Officer at the Finnish Refugee Council since September 2022. Previously, Joan worked as a Communications Assistant at the Forum for Women in Democracy from January 2020 to September 2022 and held the position of Program Officer at Vijana Corps in 2017. Additionally, Joan has worked as a Communications Officer at Mamas Club Uganda and as a Research Consultant for Opportunity International. Early in the career, Joan served as a Public Relations Officer at Dwelling Places Uganda. Joan is pursuing a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication at Uganda Christian University and holds a Master of Arts in International Relations and Diplomatic Studies and a Bachelor of Arts from Makerere University.
