Ben Springer

Ben Springer is the Director at Finsbury Glover Hering, a position they have held since May 2021. Previously, they were the Senior Director, Energy & Natural Resources at FTI Consulting Strategic Communications from June 2019 to May 2021. Prior to that, they were with EDF from March 2015 to April 2017 as the Senior Associate, Regulatory Affairs where they advised senior executives on policy and regulatory environment in North American power markets, helped to shape business development strategy, and performed quantitative and qualitative analysis of European competitors’ US investments. Springer has a long history of conducting outreach and education to policymakers, regulators, and stakeholders across the political spectrum on behalf of various companies they have worked for. Ben also has experience in monitoring and reporting on North American carbon market developments, including RGGI program review, AB32 legal challenges and market dynamics, and Canadian provincial carbon pricing implementation. In addition, they have provided expertise on evolving state regulatory models and proceedings, including New York REV and ZEC programs, Illinois’ Future Energy Jobs Act, Minnesota’s e21 Initiative, Maryland’s Grid Resiliency and Utility 2.0 efforts, and California’s climate and renewables proceedings.

Ben Springer began their educational career by earning a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Religious Studies from the University of South Carolina. Ben then went on to earn a Master of Arts in Politics and International Studies with a specialization in Eurasian Studies from Uppsala University.
