Ivan Trethowen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in emergency management and community risk. Currently serving as Community Risk Manager at Fire and Emergency NZ since September 2021, Ivan previously held the role of Head of Security & Organisational Resilience at Counties Manukau Health from October 2020 to September 2021. Ivan's experience also includes positions such as Emergency Planning & Business Continuity Manager at Auckland Airport and Relationship Manager at Auckland Transport. Ivan managed the Emergency Coordination Centre at Auckland Council and served as a Regional Advisor for the Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management. Ivan's career in public safety began with the NZ Police, where service ran from March 1988 to July 2005. Educational qualifications include a Postgraduate Certificate in Emergency Management from AUT, alongside foundational education at Henderson High School and Prospect Primary School.
