Matthew Higgins has extensive experience in brand management and marketing. Matthew spent 22 years at First Direct, where they held the position of Head of Brand, responsible for maintaining the brand's identity and communication guidelines. In 2017, they worked as a Freelance Marketing Consultant, collaborating with various clients such as Keelham Farm Shop, Leeds Bid for European City of Culture 2023, and the Lake District National Park. Matthew has also worked with charities, including Emmaus and Samaritans. Prior to that, Matthew worked at HSBC Bank Plc as the Head of Brand Development and at Marks & Spencer Money (HSBC) as a Brand Manager.
Matthew Higgins attended Ralph Thoresby High School in Leeds from 1975 to 1980. During this time, they pursued a degree in English Language and Literature, General. After completing high school, Matthew enrolled at the University of Hull, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature. Later, in 1986 and 1987, they attended Bristol Business School, where they earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.
