Caryn Ligon

Caryn Ligon has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Caryn is currently working at First Dollar as an Engineering Manager, a position they have held since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked at The Zebra, starting as a Junior Front-end Developer in November 2016 and progressing to Front End Engineer I, Front End Engineer II, and eventually Senior Software Engineer. Caryn joined The Zebra in August 2018 and left in December 2021.

Before their time at The Zebra, Caryn worked at TrendKite as an Account Architect from August 2015 to May 2016. Here, they optimized search results of media using boolean for Fortune 500 companies.

In 2014, Caryn gained managerial experience at Pascal's Coffeehouse, overseeing a team of 7 and handling daily operations. Caryn successfully completed a product transition to natural and locally bought ingredients. Caryn worked at Pascal's Coffeehouse from May 2014 to June 2015.

Caryn also had brief intern experience at Mojo Coworking in June 2013, where they performed research and development for community development in coworking spaces.

Finally, Caryn founded and served as CEO/President/Founder of A Walk in My Shoes Inc, a nonprofit organization. During their tenure from November 2010 to July 2013, the nonprofit collected and sent over 20,000 pairs of shoes to Haiti. Caryn facilitated board and annual meetings, organized events and fundraisers, and handled the finances and paperwork of the nonprofit. Caryn received media features in Our Town Magazine, The Gainesville Sun, and The Joy FM, as well as the DoSomething award.

Caryn Ligon obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Florida, having studied Business Administration, General from 2011 to 2014. In 2016, they pursued a Front End Engineering program at The Iron Yard. Caryn also holds a certification in Front-end Foundations from Code School, although the specific month and year of its completion are not provided.
