James Harland

James Harland has an extensive work experience spanning over multiple roles and companies. James is currently serving as an Advisor and investor for Ch.AI since February 2019. Prior to this, they worked as the CFO for First Mile from March 2019.

From October 2018 to January 2023, James was the Non Executive Chairman for SenSat. Before that, they were the COO/CFO for MIRACL from October 2016 to December 2018.

One of their significant roles was at SilverRail, a start-up, where they joined as the 16th employee and played an instrumental role in scaling the business to over 250 employees and generating substantial revenues. James served as the COO/CFO from April 2011 to September 2016.

James also has experience as a Board Member for the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge from July 2012 to December 2014. Additionally, they worked as an Executive at ECI Partners from December 2007 to June 2009 and as a Manager in the Private Equity and Strategy Groups at KPMG UK LLP from February 2006 to December 2007.

James'sprofessional journey began as a Consultant at The Sequoia Partnership from September 2003 to February 2006.

James Harland completed their education at the University of Cambridge from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained an MA in Manufacturing Engineering and an MEng degree. James later attended the MIT Sloan School of Management from 2009 to 2011, earning an MBA with a focus on Finance and Entrepreneurship.
