Lexi Humann has a diverse work experience in the field of mechanical engineering. Lexi currently holds the position of Principal Mechanical Systems Engineer at First Mode, where they lead a team of 22 engineers in designing and building prototype zero emissions retrofit kits for heavy haulage vehicles. In this role, they are responsible for various aspects of the project, including thermal, structural, hydraulics, harnessing, and electrical enclosure designs. Lexi also serves as the principal technical lead, budget authority, and personnel manager for the team.
Prior to this, Lexi worked as a Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer at First Mode, where they contributed to the design of the chassis, thermal, and hydraulic systems for a hybrid diesel-electric haul truck. Lexi was responsible for project planning, team management, and overall mechanical design.
Before joining First Mode, Lexi gained experience at BLUE ORIGIN as a Mechanical Engineer - IPT Lead and Operations Engineer. Lexi also worked at Northrop Grumman as a Design Engineer.

Lexi Humann attended the Colorado School of Mines from 2012 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering. Lexi then pursued further education at the University of Utah from 2017 to 2018, earning a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
