Brian J. Pinkerton

SVP & Chief Risk Officer at FIRST MUTUAL HOLDING CO

Brian brings more than 20 years of executive banking experience to his role as Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer at First Mutual Holding Co. (FMHC). As an executive leader, Brian holds responsibility for governance, risk, compliance, and internal audit practices that support the business strategies of the holding company and its affiliate banks while effectively and proactively managing risk.

Brian joined First Federal Lakewood in 2016 as Senior Vice President, Corporate Governance & Risk Officer before transitioning to the same role with FMHC in 2018. Prior to First Federal Lakewood, he was Vice President, Wealth Chief Risk Officer at FirstMerit Corporation (now a part of Huntington Bank) before his promotion to Senior Vice President, Enterprise Risk Director. He has also held positions of increasing responsibility in risk, compliance and audit at KeyBank and National City Bank (now a part of PNC).

Brian earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Youngstown State University and a Master of Business Administration from Baldwin Wallace University. He is an alumnus of Stonier Graduate School of Banking and is actively involved in the community by serving on the Wadsworth City Schools Business Advisory Council and volunteering for the Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity
