Amy Rust currently serves as the Head of Engagement and Communications at the First Peoples' Assembly of Victoria since November 2021. Prior experience includes serving as Chief of Staff for NT Minister Chansey Paech, overseeing critical portfolios such as Local Government and Indigenous Essential Services. Additionally, Amy acted as Principal Aboriginal Workforce Consultant at the Department of Human Services SA and held Chief of Staff roles for Members of Parliament, including Chris Picton MP and Steve Georganas MP. As Principal Policy Adviser for the Hon Kyam Maher MLC, Amy focused on Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation. Earlier career highlights include positions at the Indigenous Land Corporation, Federal Labor Government, and National Native Title Tribunal, alongside roles in administrative support at the University of South Australia.
