Jose Gonzales Borja

Jose Gonzales Borja is an accomplished mining engineer with extensive experience in the mining industry, currently serving as Chief Mining Engineer at First Quantum Minerals since January 2023. Prior roles include Technical Services Manager and Mining Engineering Superintendent at KAZ Minerals, as well as Senior Mine Engineer at Freeport-McMoRan, where responsibilities were centered on Safford & Morenci, AZ. Jose also held positions as Senior Long Term Planning Engineer at both Barrick Gold Corporation and Freeport-McMoRan and worked as a Mining Engineer at Newmont Corporation. Educational qualifications include a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arizona and a Professional Engineer degree in Mining and Mineral Engineering from the National University of Engineering.
