Michael Varney

Michael Varney has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Michael began their career at Ellington Volunteer Fire Department in 1984 as a Fire Fighter and remained in this role till Present. In 2000, they joined the same department as Fire Chief and served in this position until 2014. In 2011, Varney became the Director of Administration / Statewide Interoperability Coordinator at State of Connecticut, Dept. of Emergency Services and Public Protection and held this position until 2015.

In 2015, they joined the First Responder Network Authority as the Region 1 Consultation Lead. Michael went on to become the Director of Field Operations Northeast in 2018 and then the Senior Director of Field Operations from January 2020.
