Gang Xiong has a diverse work experience in the field of technology and research. They started their career at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, US Department of Energy, where they worked as a Postdoc Research Fellow. During this time, they focused on ultrafast laser spectroscopy and the development of photoemission electron microscopy.
After that, Gang Xiong joined Intematix as a Senior R&D Engineer. Their responsibilities included improving solar cell efficiency through phosphor coating and developing material screening methods using scanning optical microscopy and XRD mapping.
They later moved to First Solar, where they held various roles. They started as a Development Engineer IV and then worked as the Manager of Device and Process Integration. Finally, they became the Director of California Technology Center.
Overall, Gang Xiong has gained valuable experience in technology development, research, and management throughout their career.
Gang Xiong completed a PhD in Physics, along with an MS in Computer Science, from Wake Forest University. Prior to that, they received a B.E. and M.S. in Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China.
