Sergiu Draguta

Sergiu Draguta is a Process Development Engineer at First Solar since November 2018, bringing extensive experience in physical chemistry and materials science. Prior to this role, Sergiu completed a PhD in Physical Chemistry at the University of Notre Dame, where research focused on measuring spatial heterogeneity in charge trap state density and emission quantum yield in perovskite thin films. At Los Alamos National Laboratory, Sergiu served as a Research and Development Scientist, achieving significant advancements in CuInSeS quantum dots field effect transistors. Earlier experiences include work as a Graduate Research Assistant at New Mexico Highlands University, where non-centrosymmetric crystals for non-linear optical applications were designed, as well as research at the State University of Moldova, involving thin film heterojunction solar cell fabrication using various deposition techniques. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Chemistry from New Mexico Highlands University and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Universitatea de Stat din Moldova.
