Arsen Vaganyan

Arsen Vaganyan has a strong background in risk management and compliance, with experience working in various financial institutions. Arsen began their career at Raintree Financial Solutions as a Compliance Officer, where they developed internal compliance policies and conducted risk assessments. Arsen then moved on to Canadian Western Bank as Manager of Privacy & Regulatory Risk before joining First West Credit Union. At First West, they held roles including Sr. Manager of Enterprise Risk, Director of Quantitative Risk & Regulatory Compliance, and most recently Director of Financial Risk & Modeling, overseeing areas such as market risk, liquidity risk, credit risk analytics, and model risk management.

Arsen Vaganyan completed a BA in Law (Honours) with a field of study in Business Law at Carleton University from 2007 to 2011. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Bank Capital Adequacy under Basel III in 2020, Quantitative Financial Risk Management (QFRM) in 2018, CRM in 2017, CIPP/C in 2015, and CRCMP in 2014.
