Meryle Corbett

Meryle Corbett is the current Director at First West Credit Union. Meryle has also previously served as the CFO and Director of Finance for KF Aerospace from September 2006 to May 2019. In their role as CFO, they were responsible for finance and IT operations for the KF Aerospace Group of Companies.

KF Aerospace is Canada's third largest airline and provides a suite of aviation services, operating airbases across Canada with recent expansion overseas. Services include air cargo, aircraft maintenance, heavy modifications to make cargo and fire tankers, engine repair and overhaul, landing gear repair and overhaul, avionics upgrades, aircraft interiors, charter services, leasing, airforce pilot training and aircraft purchases/sales.

This wide range of services and complexity of operations has provided a stable platform from which to move the company's focus from "national" to "global", and a capacity to bid on $1billion+ RFPs. Daily admin operations (supporting the 20+ subsidiaries and various business units described above) are handled by a group of 18 employees in Accounting and 24 employees in IT.

A privately held entity, Kelowna Flightcraft provides services under large military and government contracts extending out as far as 20 years. The business therefore operates under tight scrutiny and controls for financial purposes as well as Transport Canada regulations.

Recently added new business opportunities include Buffalo Search and Rescue maintenance for Department of National Defense, $1.8billion

Meryle Corbett has a career in management consulting, board governance, and corporate directorships. Meryle is a certified management consultant and a chartered director. Meryle has a diploma in business administration from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).
