Stephanie Shepard, MPP has a diverse background in various environmental and research roles. Stephanie started their career as an AmeriCorps member and Assistant Construction Supervisor at the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity. Stephanie gained technical writing experience during this time by creating instructional sheets for construction tasks. Stephanie then worked as a Field Technician at Nemacolin Archaeological Services & Michael Baker International before joining VITAC as an Offline Captioner, where they demonstrated excellent editing skills.

Stephanie continued their education and became a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant/Research Technician at Oregon State University. During their time there, they conducted interviews, analyzed newspaper articles, and contributed to scientific journal publications for a National Science Foundation project.

Stephanie also held the position of Hatfield Resident Fellow at Portland State University, where they focused on public service and leadership. Additionally, they completed a forestry research internship at Sustainable Northwest, supporting community-driven conservation and sustainable development initiatives.

Their most recent work experience includes roles at Mojave Desert Land Trust as a Program Coordinator - Public Policy, where they raised public awareness of environmental science and policy issues, and at FirstCarbon Solutions as an Environmental Services Analyst and Assistant Project Manager, where they specialized in writing environmental impact reports and research.

Stephanie's work experience demonstrates their expertise in environmental science, policy analysis, research, technical writing, and project management.

Stephanie Shepard, MPP, has a strong education background with a focus on public policy and environmental studies. In 2016, they obtained a Master's Degree (MPP) in Public Policy from Oregon State University, where they specialized in Environmental Policy and Rural Policy. Prior to that, in 2009, Stephanie attended the Archaeology Field School at West Virginia University. Stephanie also holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from West Virginia University, with a major in Professional Writing and Editing. In addition to their formal education, Stephanie obtained a certification as a Certified Master Naturalist from the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources in January 2013.
