Nikhil Rao

Nikhil Rao is an accomplished attorney with extensive experience in federal regulatory law, litigation, and labor and employment matters. Since May 2014, Nikhil has held various roles at FirstEnergy, currently serving as Associate General Counsel, focusing on litigation and labor and employment issues. Previously, Nikhil worked at Jones Day as an Associate, specializing in commercial litigation and corporate and criminal investigations. Nikhil's judicial experience includes clerkships for Hon. Peter W. Hall at the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and Hon. Solomon Oliver, Jr. at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Earlier career roles include positions at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, and in investment banking at Merrill Lynch & Co. Nikhil holds a JD from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a BA from Amherst College.
