Derek Vandertang

Derek VanderTang has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Derek is currently the Director of Cloud & Managed Services at FirstLight Fiber since September 2022. Prior to this, Derek was an Executive Director at LUMAER Cybersecurity Solutions from July 2018 to September 2022. Derek also served as the Senior Director of Technology & Infrastructure at the University of Rochester Medical Center from June 2019 to September 2021. Derek has held various managerial positions, including Program Manager at Unissant, Director of IT at Treliant Risk Advisors, Cogent Communications, and JPMorgan Chase. Derek was also a Technical Services Senior Manager at SAIC and Manager of Data Center Operations at the American Red Cross. Derek's expertise lies in technology and infrastructure management.

Derek VanderTang earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and Business Systems Analysis from the University of Phoenix, where they studied from 2007 to 2010. Derek also obtained several certifications related to ITIL, including ITIL Service Offerings and Agreements in 2019, ITIL Operational Support and Analysis in 2014, and ITIL Foundation Level v3 in 2010.
