Catalina is the editor-in-chief and vice president of CQ Roll Call, which provides news, information, analysis and legislative tracking under the CQ and Roll Call media brands. As the top newsroom leader, she manages journalists and analysts covering policy and politics. Catalina joined CQ Roll Call in 2015 as a senior editor at CQ, best known as Congressional Quarterly. She was responsible for coverage on topics such as lobbying and influence, immigration, homeland security, legal affairs and the Supreme Court.
She previously worked at USA TODAY and Gannett in various roles as an editor and reporter, including stints directing coverage of Congress, the White House and politics. While at USA TODAY, Catalina co-directed coverage of the 2008 presidential campaign and was the lead writer of the OnPolitics blog. She has also worked for The Dallas Morning News, Dallas Times Herald and The Press-Enterprise of Riverside, Calif.
A longtime advocate for diversity in the news media, Catalina is a former national president of the Asian American Journalists Association. She is a board member of the National Press Foundation. Catalina, a native of San Francisco, is a graduate of the University of Southern California.
