Head Of Industrial Design - Dishwashing at Fisher & Paykel Appliances

Sam Burton has a diverse range of work experience in industrial design and innovation. They started their career as a Freelance Designer in 2007 and later joined Procreate Limited as an Industrial Designer. In this role, Sam managed multiple projects, leading the design strategy for 2D brand development and 3D product design. They also gained experience in production support and supply chain management.

After their time at Procreate Limited, Sam worked at Codetta Product Design in Canada, where they were involved in designing music equipment, high-tech electronics, and consumer goods. They applied Codetta's sculptural approach to 3D form and successfully saw a product through to production.

In 2011, Sam returned to Procreate Limited as an Industrial Designer until 2015, continuing their work in design strategy and integration of consistent messaging in overall design.

In 2015, Sam joined Indemic as a Senior Industrial Designer, focusing on industrial design and design strategy. They also contributed to brand experience development and provided production support and supply chain management for clients.

In 2016, Sam joined Bobux International Ltd as the Design and Innovation Manager, responsible for the footwear design team and driving innovation across the business. They later became the Head of Design and Innovation, collaborating closely with the leadership team in Auckland and Europe.

In 2019, Sam briefly worked at the Designers Institute of New Zealand as a NZ Best Design Awards Judge in the product category.

Currently, Sam is the Head of Industrial Design - Dishwashing at Fisher & Paykel Appliances since 2023.

Sam Burton attended Massey University from 2003 to 2006, where they pursued a Bachelor of Design hons degree in Industrial Design.
