Steven Marks

Steven Marks has extensive experience in the finance industry. Steven currently holds the position of Head of Technology, Media and Telecommunications Corporate Ratings at Fitch Ratings. In this role, they lead a team that provides rating actions and research to debt capital markets participants. Steven is responsible for ensuring analytical excellence, talent management, mentoring, and operational oversight. Prior to this, Steven served as the Group Credit Officer for Structured Finance at Fitch Ratings, where they monitored the quality of ratings processes. Steven also held the position of Managing Director - REITs Group Head at Fitch Ratings.

Before joining Fitch Ratings, Steven worked at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. as a Managing Director in the Real Estate, Gaming, Leisure, and Lodging division. Steven also gained experience at KPMG as a Supervising Senior Accountant.

Steven Marks, CFA obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland in 1991. Steven then went on to earn an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business in 1997. In 2022, they obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) Charterholder certification from the CFA Institute. Before their higher education, they attended Milford Mill HS, although the specific time frame is unknown.
