Anwita Basu has extensive work experience in the field of country risk analysis and macroeconomics. Anwita is currently the Head of Europe, Country Risk at Fitch Solutions, where they have been since November 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Head of Asia Pacific, Country Risk at Fitch Solutions from October 2019 to November 2021. Before joining Fitch Solutions, Anwita worked at The Economist Intelligence Unit (The EIU) from 2015 to 2019. During their time at The EIU, they held the positions of Country Risk Service Manager - Asia Pacific and Lead Analyst, Asia, Country Analysis. Anwita has also worked as an Emerging Markets Economist at Trusted Sources (now TS Lombard) from 2012 to 2015, where they focused on covering economies such as Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Thailand. Anwita started their professional career as a Researcher at Baroness Shriti Vadera's office in 2012 and as a Research Assistant at the University of Warwick from 2009 to 2012. Anwita holds a wealth of experience in economic research and analysis, particularly in the areas of country risk assessment and macroeconomic trends.
Anwita Basu pursued a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Warwick between 2006 and 2009. Anwita furthered their education at the same institution and obtained a Master of Science in Economics from 2010 to 2011.
