Russell Uhr is an experienced mining professional with a comprehensive background in underground and opencut operations, holding various leadership roles since 1988. Currently serving as the Underground Mine Manager at Fitzroy Mining Operations since October 2017, Russell is instrumental in transitioning the Ironbark No 1 operation to Longwall mining, which is set to become a cornerstone of Fitzroy's business. Prior to this, Russell held key positions at Anglo American and Rio Tinto, including leading safety and production at Grasstree Operations and overseeing the Hail Creek Expansion Project's operational readiness. Russell's extensive experience spans multiple roles focused on operational performance, safety leadership, and strategic planning across several significant mining projects. Russell holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business - Operations Management from the University of Southern Queensland and an Associate’s Degree in Engineering - Coal Mining from Ipswich Mining College.
