Flad Architects
James Kraus, AIA LEED AP, serves as a Project Architect and Senior Design Leader at Flad Architects since February 2019. Additionally, James holds the position of Adjunct Professor at the Academy of Art University, where involvement includes advising Undergraduate Architecture design studios with an emphasis on design thinking and sustainable strategies. James has previously contributed expertise as a Design Consultant at Heller Manus Architects and as a Senior Associate at M Moser Associates. Prior roles include Vice President and Senior Project Designer at HOK, Senior Architect at Grimshaw Architects, and Senior Architect and Sustainability Specialist at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in New York. James began his architectural career as a Project Designer at Pickard Chilton. Academically, James earned a Master’s in Sustainable Design from the Architectural Association and a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech, supplemented by studies in Urban Policy and Planning.
