James Halloran has a diverse work experience in the food industry. James started as a Food Technologist at McCarty Foods in 1993 and then moved on to Tyson Foods in the same role. At Tyson Foods, they worked directly with customers to develop new products and sourced raw materials and vendors. In 2000, they joined Sylvest Farms as a Director of R&D, where they coordinated new product and process development across different departments and improved efficiency and quality. In 2002, they became the Director of Research & Development at Filet of Chicken, where they developed relationships with customers and coordinated the ideation, development, and scale-up of new products. In 2014, they joined Flagship Food Group as the Vice President of R&D and QA and later became the Vice President of Food Safety and Quality at Flagship Food Group - North America in 2015. In these roles, they developed new product pipelines, trained direct reports, and oversaw food safety practices. Currently, they are an Independent Contractor/Consultant at LAD LLC.
James Halloran has a strong educational background in the field of food science and technology. James completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Animal Science from Auburn University from 1982 to 1987. Following that, they pursued their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Food Science and Technology at Mississippi State University from 1987 to 1989. James further advanced their education by earning a Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology from Mississippi State University, which they accomplished from 1989 to 1993. In addition to their academic achievements, James also holds certifications in Food Defense, HACCP, and is a designated SQF Practitioner.
