Lawrence Kao

Lawrence Kao has over twenty years of professional experience in software engineering. Lawrence began their career in 1997 as a Multimedia Software Engineer at Sierra Online. In 2000, they worked as a Game Programmer at 3DO before joining Secret Level as a Software Engineer in 2002. In 2005, they became a Maya Tools Engineer at Factor 5, followed by a Technical Lead role at Industrial Light and Magic in 2006. In 2012, they began working as an Independent Consultant at Aspire Incubator, where they co-developed a prototype with a Urban Planning professor at University of Melbourne. In 2014, they founded interoperate.io, a cloud-based collaboration Single Page Application. In 2018, they joined CarGurus as a Senior Software Engineer, where they designed, developed and debugged various front-end features associated with Carguru's dealer dashboard system. Lawrence is currently working as a Software Engineer at Fletch.

Lawrence Kao has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and has taken extension coursework in Fine and Studio Arts from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts.
