Olakunle Komolafe

Olakunle Komolafe has a diverse work experience starting in 2007. Olakunle worked as an Experienced Staff Advisor at KPMG Professional Services, where they assisted with various transactions and conducted tax analysis. From 2009 to 2009, they worked as a Legal/Governance Analyst at the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Convention Secretariat, United Nations, where they reviewed guidelines and contracts and researched compliance mechanisms for environmental agreements.

Komolafe then joined ATB Financial in 2011 and held multiple roles over the years, including Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Regulatory Compliance Manager, and Senior Manager of Regulatory Compliance. In these roles, they conducted risk assessments, advised on regulatory requirements, and assisted in establishing compliance controls.

Their most recent position is with Flexiti, where they currently serve as the Associate Vice President of Compliance since 2021.

Olakunle Komolafe has a strong educational background in law. Olakunle holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Obafemi Awolowo University. Olakunle further pursued their studies with two Master of Laws (LL.M.) degrees. One from Harvard Law School and another from the University of Calgary specializing in Energy, Environment & Natural Resources Law.

In addition to their formal education, Olakunle Komolafe has obtained various certifications in compliance, ethics, privacy, and risk management. These include the Certified AML Fintech Compliance Associate from ACAMS, GDPR Compliance: Essential Training from LinkedIn, and Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) from the Compliance Certification Board (CCB), among others.
