Kirk Sorensen has had a long and varied work experience. Kirk began their career as a summer intern at Lockheed Martin in 1997 and 1998. Kirk then worked as an aerospace engineer at NASA from 2000 to 2010. In 2010, they began working as chief nuclear technologist at Teledyne Brown Engineering. Since 2011, they have been the President and Chief Technologist at Flibe Energy.
Kirk Sorensen has an extensive education history. Kirk attended Davis High School before going on to earn a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University between 1992 and 1998. Kirk then earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology between 1998 and 1999. Finally, they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2014.
