Jake Downs has a diverse range of work experience in the legal field. Jake is currently working as a Senior Legal Counsel at Flinks since April 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Legal Counsel, Privacy at Flinks from January 2022 to April 2023.

Jake Downs has a diverse education history. In 2002, they obtained a OSSD degree from Agincourt Collegiate Institute. Jake then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Criminology and Political Science from Nipissing University, studying from 2006 to 2010. Jake furthered their education by completing a LLB degree at the University of Leicester from 2010 to 2012. Jake'sfocus was on Law during this period. Later, they attended the University of Ottawa from 2012 to 2013, where they obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) degree specializing in Law and Technology.

In addition to their formal education, Jake has also obtained several certifications. In June 2016, they became a Barrister & Solicitor after receiving certification from The Law Society of Upper Canada. In the same month, they also obtained the Notary Public certification from the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services. In May 2021, they became a Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals after completing a certification program offered by Microsoft.
