Kristina Johnston

Kristina Johnston has over 10 years of experience in the field. Kristina began their career in 2001 as the Recreation & Enrichment Director at Southern Lakes Parks & Recreation, where they created and maintained half of the organization's budget and lead volunteer groups through event planning, strategic planning, and implementation processes. In 2008, they became the Director of Red Ink Flint, where they coordinated exhibition schedules, created and coordinated professional development programs, and fostered relationships with other nonprofits and local businesses. In 2010, they became a Board Member at Fenton Fund Advisory Board and started their own business, KJohnston Presents... Event & Design Services. In 2011, they began working at Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce as the Chief Operating Officer, Group Vice President, Director of Grants & Development, and Grants Manager.

Kristina Johnston received their MPA in Non-Profit Management from the University of Michigan-Flint between 2005 and 2007. Kristina earned their BFA in Illustration from the College for Creative Studies between 2000 and 2003. Kristina also attended Central Michigan University, studying Art History, English, and Graphic Design.
