Jornea Armant has a diverse range of work experience in the fields of education and technology. Jornea has held various leadership roles at Flip and Microsoft, including Principal, Head of Engagement at Microsoft Flip and Head of Educator Innovation. Prior to that, they worked as an Instructional Technology Specialist at Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University. Jornea also served as an Instructional Coach at Madison County School System, where they collaborated with school and district leaders to support instructional efforts and implemented programs to strengthen instruction. Before that, they worked as a Reading Intervention Specialist at Decatur City Schools, where they provided individual and group instruction to struggling readers. Jornea began their career as an Elementary Education Teacher at St. Charles Parish Public Schools, where they taught various subjects and utilized innovative teaching methods and technology. Jornea also gained experience as an Administrative Fellow, assisting with school improvement goals and community relations. Jornea Armant completed their Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Teaching from Loyola University New Orleans in the years 1999 to 2003. Jornea then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Louisiana Monroe from 2008 to 2009. Lastly, they completed their Doctor of Education in Instructional Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, a program which they began in 2015 and successfully completed in 2021.
