Joe Flynn has a diverse work experience, having held positions at nine different organizations since 2011. From 2011 to 2013, they worked as a Field Manager for the Fund for the Public Interest, a Congressional Intern for the US House of Representatives, a Community Programs Coordinator and AmeriCorps VISTA for The Children's Network of Solano County, and a Personal Shopper for Instacart. In 2011, they also held a Psycho-Social Intervention Intern position at the Cape Town Refugee Centre. From 2013 to 2015, they were a Development Coordinator and Development Associate at the Center for Early Intervention on Deafness. From 2014 to 2018, they were Self-Employed as a Content Creator and Podcast Producer. In 2018, they were a Corporate Development Manager at Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area, and from 2019 to present, they have been a Partnerships Team Lead and Partnerships Manager at Flipcause.
Joe Flynn attended The Morgan School from 2004 to 2008 and then the University of Connecticut from 2008 to 2012, where they earned a BA in Joe'story, Human Rights, Women's Gender & Sexuality Studies. Joe also holds a certification as a Certified Advanced Volunteer Tax Preparer.
