Nicholas Rodger has over 17 years of work experience in the engineering and transportation industry. Nicholas began their career in 2002 as a Civil Engineering Laboratory Technician at Fulton Hogan. In 2003, they moved to MWH as a Civil/Roading Engineering Technician. In 2004, they took on the role of Area Engineer (Northern) at Clutha District Council, where they were responsible for the horizontal infrastructure in the northern half of the District. In 2006, they joined Duffill Watts Consulting Group as a Roading Engineer, where they were responsible for both the management of the roading team and for specialist technical engineering services. In 2007, they joined the New Zealand Transport Agency as a Project Manager, delivering a range of Block and Large State Highway projects across Otago and Southland. In 2011, they joined HEB Construction as a Submissions Manager and MWH as a Senior Transportation Projects Engineer. In 2013, they became the Maintenance Contract Manager - Coastal Otago for the NZ Transport Agency and in 2019 they took on the roles of National Maintenance Delivery Manager at Downer New Zealand and NZ Operations Lead at SkyDrop.
Nicholas Rodger completed a B.Eng.Tech in Civil Engineering from Otago Polytechnic from 2012 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a BSc in Land Development and Planning from the University of Otago between 2009 and 2011. Nicholas also obtained a Dip.Eng(Civil) in Civil Engineering from Otago Polytechnic between 2000 and 2005. In addition, they have obtained a number of certifications, including an RPAS: Introduction to Flight Operations and Procedures and an RPAS: Introduction to Regulations and Operator Conduct from Massey University in 2016, a National Certificate in Industrial Rope Access (Level 3) from NZQA in 2016, an Engineering Technology Practitioner (ETPract) from IPENZ (Engineers New Zealand) in 2011, and a Technical Member of IPENZ Practice College from IPENZ (Engineers New Zealand) in 2006.
