Michael Flock

CEO at FLOCK Specialty Finance

Michael Flock has been involved in the credit, collections, debt buying, and outsourcing businesses for more than 20 years, beginning with Dun & Bradstreet and, more recently, as a financial advisor and investment banker.

In 2007, he founded Flock Advisors to provide M&A advisory and capital funding services to these same industries. In 2013, Flock Advisors became FLOCK Specialty Finance. This change enabled the company to provide more funding solutions to current clients. The difference also gave FLOCK the ability to expand its offerings into more market segments that have been underserved by traditional banking.

Before founding FLOCK, Michael provided M&A advisory support to private equity firms, helped companies reengineer their operations, and led a successful recapitalization of a consumer collections agency where he was interim CEO. He was also an advisor to Croft & Bender, a middle-market investment bank.

From 1993 to 2000, Michael was President of Dun & Bradstreet’s Receivables Management Services subsidiary in North America. At D&B, Michael engineered a significant turnaround of his division, achieving dramatic growth in revenue and profitability. It was then spun off as RMS and is now the largest commercial receivables management company in the world.

From 1997 to 2000, Michael added the presidency of D&B’s companies in Canada, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America to his responsibilities. He substantially improved profitability in these markets by transforming the business model to one based on partnerships.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and received a Masters of Business Administration in finance from Fordham University.
