Emmalina Glinskis

Emmalina Glinskis has a diverse work experience that spans various sectors and roles. Emmalina started their career as a Research Assistant at the Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN), Earth Institute, Columbia University in 2015, where they focused on agroecology research. In the same year, they also worked as a Research Assistant at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, where they conducted geochemical analysis to explore climate change connections.

In 2016, Glinskis continued their research as an Independent Researcher for the Columbia Global Policy Initiative Fellowship. Emmalina also served as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for GIS at Columbia University. Moving forward, they joined VICE Media as a Production Assistant Intern for the Climate Desk, VICE News Tonight, where they contributed to pitches, fact-checking, and article writing.

Glinskis then worked as a Field Researcher for the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 2017, specifically focusing on the effects of climate change on microbial life and the carbon cycle in Western Antarctica. Emmalina conducted field work, collected samples, and conducted experiments.

Emmalina later became an Editorial Intern at The Nation in 2018 before becoming a Fulbright Scholar at the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment, affiliated with the Fulbright Association.

In 2019, Glinskis took on the role of a Production Assistant at the World Science Festival for a few months before transitioning to the role of a Remote Sensing Analyst at Floodbase. In early 2020, they became the Global Program Manager for Flood Response and Planning at the same company. Recently, they have taken on the role of Head of Public Sector Partnerships at Floodbase.

Overall, Glinskis has gained expertise in research, data analysis, project management, and partnership development throughout their career. Emmalina'sfocus has been on environmental and climate change-related issues.

Emmalina Glinskis' education history begins with their high school education at Stuyvesant High School, where they received their High School Diploma from 2009 to 2013. Emmalina then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science at Columbia University, attending from 2015 to 2017.

In an effort to further their education, Glinskis took part in a Certificate program in Landscape Architecture, Design Discovery at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design in 2019. Following this, they attended the University of Chicago from 2013 to 2015, focusing on Environmental Science.

Most recently, Glinskis has been studying at the University of California, Berkeley, where they are pursuing a Master's degree in City Planning (MCP) and Landscape Architecture (MLA). This phase of their education began in 2022 and is ongoing.

Additionally, Glinskis holds a certification from the Fulbright Association. Emmalina received the 2018-2019 Fulbright U.S. Student Research Award in August 2018.
