Michael Dobson

Michael Dobson is an experienced legal professional currently serving as General Counsel at the Florida Department of Financial Services since May 2022. Previously, Dobson held the position of Policy Director and Special Legal Advisor for the Florida Chief Financial Officer from 2019 to May 2022, and worked as an Associate Attorney at Dean Mead from August 2017 to August 2019. Earlier in the career, Dobson served as Staff Attorney for the Florida House of Representatives from 2014 to 2017, providing counsel on property tax issues and drafting legislation. Dobson also participated as a Florida House Fellow on the Appropriations Committee. Education credentials include a Juris Doctorate from Florida State University College of Law (2016) and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Florida State University (2013).
