Interim Administrator at Florida Health

Danielle Taylor, has been appointed as the Interim Administrator for the Florida Department of Health in Hernando County, bringing more than 25 years of clinical and administrative experience to the position.

Prior to coming to DOH-Hernando she served in multiple capacities in the private and federal workforce. Danielle is an adaptive leader who values the contributions of an interdisciplinary team which allows for a transformational approach to obtain results.

Mrs. Taylor received her Licensed Practical Nursing degree in 2000, Registered Nursing degree in 2011; both obtained from Pasco Hernando State College. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2013 and her Master of Nursing degree from American Sentinel University in 2016 with a Specialization in Organizational Management and Leadership. Danielle also obtained a certification as a Legal Nurse Consultant in 2003. She is currently enrolled in the 5th Consortia from the University of South Florida Public Health Executive Leadership Program in 2023.

Mrs. Taylor’s dedication to community wellbeing through collaborative processes is reflected in her relationships with partners and the desire protect, promote, and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county, community efforts. For many years, Danielle has been actively involved in the Florida Healthy Babies initiative, the Domestic Violence Task Force, Emergency Support Function 8 (ESF-8) working group, Tampa Bay Health and Medical Preparedness Coalition, Overdose Data to Action Initiative, the Florida Public Health Association, and a multitude of other community working groups. Mrs. Taylor and her steadfast team of professionals work tirelessly every day to implement strategies and influence behaviors that will advance the health of residents and their families.

Mrs. Taylor’s goal is to work towards having a healthier Hernando County, as she has been a resident of Florida since 1985 and has lived in Hernando County since 1996. Danielle is the proud wife of a disabled military veteran as well as the mother to two amazing sons who actively serve in the U.S. Military.
