David Grimes currently serves as the Staff Director for the Democratic Office in the Florida House of Representatives, a position held since January 2015, after roles as Deputy Staff Director and Attorney within the same office. Grimes is also a board member at Legal Services of North Florida and has held multiple leadership roles within the Florida Government Bar Association, including Past President, President, and Vice President. Grimes previously served as Assistant Attorney General for the Florida Office of the Attorney General and has experience in legal research and litigation support. Additional contributions include coaching mock trial teams at Lawton Chiles High School, serving on the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division, and leadership roles in graduate student government organizations, including the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students. Grimes earned a J.D. from the Florida State University College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Interdisciplinary Social Sciences from Florida State University.
