John A.

John A. serves as the Emergency Management Director for the City of Tampa since April 2020 and also holds the position of Adjunct Professor at Florida International University in the Academy for International Disaster Preparedness since August 2021. Previously, John held various emergency management roles, including Emergency Manager for the Town of Davie and Deputy Emergency Coordinator for Tampa Fire Rescue, where responsibilities included developing comprehensive emergency operations plans and leading Emergency Operations Center activities for significant events. Other notable positions include Emergency Planning Program Manager for the Washington State Department of Transportation, Emergency Management Consultant roles at Witt O'Brien's and Continental Shelf Associates, and an analyst position with the Office of the Governor of Florida. John earned multiple degrees from Florida State University, including a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience.
