Laura Dempsey, Esq. currently serves as an Assistant Attorney General at the Florida Office of the Attorney General since September 2022. Prior experience includes a role as a Certified Legal Intern at the Office of the Public Defender in the 6th Judicial Circuit, where advocacy skills were developed through collaboration with Assistant Public Defenders. Laura gained insights into prosecution as a Legal Intern at the State Attorney's Office, observed various courtroom stages, and responded to motions concerning evidence admissibility. As a Law Clerk for Richard N. Watts, P.A., Laura prepared legal defenses and researched legal arguments for post-conviction relief. Additional experience includes serving as a Teacher Assistant for a course on Political Civil Rights Law at Stetson University College of Law, and organizing volunteer activities for Bob Rackleff's Congressional campaign. Laura holds a Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law and a degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science from Florida Gulf Coast University.
