Katherine Easterling, PhD, is a Research Molecular Biologist at the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) since October 2023, focusing on X-disease in cherry through insect vector transcriptomics. Concurrently, Katherine serves as a Courtesy Research Scientist/Scholar at Florida State University and previously held the role of Lead Research Scientist at Hopsteiner from February 2020 to July 2023, specializing in structural genomics and chromosome architecture in a complex hybrid system. Katherine's earlier experience includes serving as a Hopsteiner Doctoral Research Fellow and a Carlsberg Doctoral Research Fellow. Katherine earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Florida State University in October 2019.
