JK Slyby

JK Slyby is the CTO at Fluid Truck. They have a background in engineering, specifically in software development and have been in the field for around 8 years. JK started their career as a Graduate Teaching Fellow at Colorado School of Mines where they spent two years teaching undergraduate students. They then transitioned into industry and spent three years at Seagate Technology as a Software Engineer II before joining FluoroFinder in October 2015 as a Senior Software Engineer.

At FluoroFinder, JK was given the opportunity to work on a platform of software tools for designing medical experiments which included an accelerated cancer research tool that has been deployed in over 500 core facilities at 250 US research institutions. JK was a part of the team that converted a traditional Rails app into a modern web app using a Rails API with a React.js front end.

After a year at FluoroFinder, JK left to join Fluid Truck as their CTO in September 2016.

After completing a Master of Science in Computer Science at the Colorado School of Mines, JK Slyby worked as a software engineer and music producer. JK then completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Software Engineering at Ouachita Baptist University.

JK Slyby works with William Theis - Head of Technical Recruiting, Jenifer Snyder - General Counsel & Co-Founder, and Jason Rapert - Head of UI and Design. Some individuals on their team include Ryan Cheney - Head of Hardware, Andrew Ellis - Head of DevOps, and Kevin Bowers - VP, Engineering. Their manager is James Eberhard, Founder & CEO.
