Melanie Piedra

Melanie Piedra has a diverse work experience with a focus on technical sourcing and recruiting. Melanie started their career in 2015 as a Lead I - Just Below at Spartan Shops Inc, where they supervised a staff of 10-15 people and made daily produce and product orders. From there, they progressed to roles such as Lead III, Interim Starbucks Store Manager, and Assistant Franchise Operations Manager.

In 2017, Piedra worked as a Production Editor at Spartan Daily, where they designed and edited the front page and news pages for San Jose State University's daily paper. Melanie followed journalism's AP format for newspaper standards and ensured designs and edits were completed by deadlines.

Piedra then transitioned to graphic design and marketing roles. As a Graphic Designer at The Spear Magazine in 2017-2018, they designed the bi-weekly magazine using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Melanie also trained new designers and created new content through video and graphics. In 2018-2019, they served as an Executive Assistant at Perry Group Real Estate - Sereno Group, where they organized emails, mails, and real estate contracts and created a new filing system.

From 2019 to 2021, Piedra worked as a Technical Recruiter at Kforce Inc, sourcing qualified candidates for technical roles through various channels. Melanie also built lasting relationships with customers and candidates.

In 2021, Piedra joined Microsoft as a Technical Sourcer, focusing on hiring talented software engineers for various engineering groups. Melanie sourced qualified candidates, guided them through the interview process, and conducted detailed phone screens.

In 2021-2022, Piedra worked at Google as a Technical Sourcer. Melanie'sresponsibilities included strategic sourcing for software engineering candidates, conducting initial phone screens, and providing detailed discussions and materials for the interview process.

Currently, in 2022, Piedra is working at FLYR Labs as a Technical Sourcer.

Melanie Piedra holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from San Jose State University. Additionally, they obtained the certification of AIRS Certified Diversity Recruiter from AIRS, an ADP company, in January 2023.
