Juan Manuel Alvarez

Juan Manuel Alvarez is an accomplished entomologist with extensive experience in insecticide development and biological research. Currently serving as North America Insecticides Product Development Manager and Senior Global R&D Scientist at FMC Corporation since November 2017, Alvarez leads global programs focused on characterizing new insecticide active ingredients and supporting FMC’s existing portfolio. In addition, Alvarez holds the position of Affiliated Associate Professor at the University of Delaware since June 2018. Previously, Alvarez contributed to DuPont Crop Protection as Global Principal Investigator and Discovery Principal Investigator, driving research initiatives that identified and developed new insect management technologies. Alvarez also has academic experience as Assistant and Associate Professor of Entomology at the University of Idaho, alongside multiple research roles in various academic institutions. Holding a Ph.D. in Entomology from the University of Florida and a Master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Alvarez's educational foundation supports a robust career dedicated to advancements in pest management and insect biology.
